Il giorno 13 giugno 2018 insieme alle nostre insegnanti di inglese Gravina e Gulfo e alcuni dei nostri compagni siamo andati in gita a Milano per incontrare i nostri penfriends arrivati per conoscerci direttamente dalla Scozia, più precisamente da Glasgow .
Siamo partiti in treno alla mattina verso le 9, siamo arrivati a Milano e abbiamo camminato fino ad arrivare alle “Gallerie d’Italia”, dove abbiamo sostato per circa due ore e abbiamo seguito il percorso Zaino in spalla, ascoltando la spiegazione di alcune opere d’arte in inglese e giocando il ruolo di turisti e guide turistiche. Verso le 12:30 siamo andati verso il “Museo delle scienze e delle tecnologie” e, prima di entrare, abbiamo mangiato i panini nel cortile davanti al museo dove abbiamo aspettato l’arrivo dei penfriends.
Li abbiamo accolti con un cartellone di benvenuto ed uno striscione e con dei piccoli pensieri per ognuno di loro. Ci siamo presentati e finalmente, dopo quasi due anni, abbiamo conosciuto le nostre corrispondenti: Kyma, Molly e Katie.
Siamo entrati al museo e lo abbiamo visitato insieme: è stata proprio un’esperienza unica. Siamo stati insieme un paio d’ore, forse anche di più e abbiamo fatto merenda insieme, poi ci è toccato salutarli e li abbiamo ringraziati della bella giornata passata insieme.
Prima di ripartire siamo andati a prendere un gelato per ritornare poi a casa. È stata una bellissima esperienza, la vorremmo rifare anche l’anno prossimo. Anzi sarebbe bello che noi ragazze e ragazzi di Albavilla andassimo da loro in Scozia a trovarli.

On 13th June 2018, we went on a trip to Milan with our teachers of English, Mrs Gravina and Mrs Gulfo and some of our classmates to meet our penpals, who came to meet us directly from Scotland.
We left by train in the morning around 9, we arrived to Milan and we walked straight to the “Gallerie d’Italia” where we stayed for about two hours. Here we did the CLIL course “Backpack on the shoulder” in English, visiting some of the best paintings of their collection.
Around 12:30 we went to the “Museum of Science and Technology” and before entering, we ate our sandwiches and we waited for their arrival.
We welcomed them with a poster representing Italy and a big banner “Welcome Saint Aloysius College” that we gave them, we had also small souvenirs for each of them, handmade boxes containing sweets and silk scarfs made in Como for their teachers, they were all very happy.
After around two years we finally met our penfriends Kyma, Molly and Katie, it was a big emotion. We introduced ourselves and we exchanged gifts and hugs. Later we visited the museum together, it was a unique experience. We stayed together perhaps more than two hours, then they had to go so we had to greet them and we thanked them for the beautiful day spent together.
At the end of the day we had an ice cream before leaving to come back home. It was a wonderful experience and we would like to do it again next year. Indeed it would be nice if next year Albavilla girls and boys will go to Scotland to visit them.
